Jami Wilenius holds an MSc from Helsinki University of Technology's Department of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications where he majored in radio technology and minored in remote sensing (space technology). At the final stage of his studies, Jami worked for over a year for an international telecommunications company in product development of microwave radios.

Jami has worked in the IPR field since 2007 and as a patent attorney for Kolster since 2011. He has protected innovations in many fields of technology, chiefly innovations based on mechanics and electrical engineering. Through his work, he is familiar with applications of telecommunications, radio technology (particularly GPS and RFID), electronics and laser technology as well as with inventions relating to navigation, health care and sewer renovation, for example.

Jami is well versed in carrying out patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses, competitor surveillance as well as analyses of patent data obtained from databases. He counsels our clients on decisions relating to IPR protection and on IPR risk assessment. Jami has also experience of various IPR workshops, for instance in companies wishing to go through the invention disclosure process and to activate inventors.
