Pirta Tiiro

Pirta Tiiro has a degree in biochemistry, and has also schooled herself in chemistry and pharmacology. She has gained experience in IPR already since 1990. Before she joined us at Kolster in 2005, Pirta worked for more than eleven years as Patent Engineer for a Finnish pharmaceutical company, and for more than four years as Patent Manager at an international company in food industry. Pirta has extensive and profound knowledge of applications in the fields of pharmaceutical and food industries.

As a patent attorney at Kolster, Pirta has made patent applications, conducted patentability evaluations as well as given statements on freedom to operate issues in the fields of foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals. She has also appeared as an expert in patent infringement and invalidation proceedings. Pirta has deepened her know-how in patent litigation, patent praxis and legal systems in Europe by participating in "Patent Litigation in Europe" training intended for teaching attorneys to represent their clients in patent litigation issues.

She is also a member of Kolster's IPR Management Group and serves as an active consultant to help our clients utilize their IPR property efficiently.
