Solveig Nylund

Solveig Nylund is a highly specialized expert in biotechnology. She is also widely experienced in IPR management, strategy planning, financing and competitor surveillance, particularly in pharmaceutical applications and drug development. Solveig assists our client companies in evaluating their IPR portfolios, prepares expert opinions on freedom to operate (FTO) issues, and gives statements, for example in connection with due diligence reports.

Before becoming a Kolsterian in 2002, Solveig managed the patent department of a large pharmaceutical company for ten years, and for more than three years she worked as an expert in biotechnology at Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, assessing financing applications for companies’ product development programs.

As a patent attorney, Solveig is widely experienced in the areas of biotechnology and gene technology, where expert opinions relating to the procedure of patenting genes or applications in medical therapy and diagnostics often constitute a vast majority of her assignments.
