Tapio Äkräs is Head of the ICT branch at Kolster. Tapio has a degree in applied electronics, digital and telecommunications technology, and measuring technology as well as in medical electronics from Tampere University of Technology.
Tapio has worked for Kolster since 1985. He specializes in telecommunications, wireless communications, network services, electronics, power electronics, RF technology, optics, integrated circuits, and control and measuring technology.
He is well versed in protecting innovations and patents as well as conducting infringement analyses after processing hundreds of patent application families over the years. He has also successfully prosecuted many oppositions, appeals and related oral proceedings at the European Patent Office.
