Anu Taivainen

Anu Taivainen is a biochemist (MSc) graduated from the University of Oulu. Anu has worked as a researcher at the medical university of Stockholm (Karolinska Institutet), at the Institute of Biomedical Technology of the University of Tampere, and latest at the Medical Faculty of the University of Helsinki. As a researcher she has focused on enzymes involved in fatty acid metabolisms, DNA research based on different PCR methods, and particularly on interactions of cytoskeletal proteins.

As a patent attorney at Kolster since 2003, Anu has concentrated on protecting medical innovations in the application fields of biochemistry, cellular biology and molecular biology. She masters the state-of-the-art technology and knowledge in biotechnology. Her area of specialty is Supplementary Protection Certificate applications for medicinal products and plant protection products. Anu has drafted and prosecuted patent applications both for domestic and foreign clients. In addition, she is familiar with assignments including patentability evaluations and novelty searches.
