Timo Pykälä

Timo Pykälä graduated from the University of Oulu majoring in informatics. Before joining Kolster, Timo worked for three years as a programmer and software consultant for companies developing management client/server data processing systems (Windows, C, SQL Server), and for five years as a programmer and project and engineering manager for an international telecommunications company, where he focused on software development of embedded systems and object-oriented design (Unix, C++, OS68).

Timo has worked as a patent attorney for Kolster since 1996 and concentrated on the protection of telecommunications applications and various software innovations. His areas of expertise cover wireless networks, network analyzers, user interfaces, medical data processing, and video encoding, for instance.

In addition to drafting patent applications, Timo has solid experience in drafting patent infringement analyses and international opposition proceedings of patents. He also gives lectures on patenting software in particular.
