Antero Virkkala

Antero Virkkala holds an MSc from Helsinki University of Technology, where he majored in digital technology, applied electronics, and electrical measurement. He built his first microprocessor system in 1978 and worked in designing, programming and marketing microcomputers until 1995.

Antero joined Kolster in 1995 and has since protected numerous inventions in the fields of electronics, wireless and optical telecommunications, WLAN positioning, and bioinformatics. His speciality is protecting computer-implemented inventions, and he gives several lectures on this every year. Antero’s experience in patent infringement analyses and opinions is extensive.

Since 2002 Antero has been actively involved in epi’s Online Communications Committee, which coordinates electronic communications between the authorities and patent applicants.
