Reijo Rantanen’s degree programme at Tampere University of Technology was automation engineering. He specialized in control engineering, signal processing and computer technology. He has also taken basic courses on mechanical engineering.

After graduation, Reijo worked for five years as a researcher and project manager for a research unit of an international electric power and automation technology company.

In 1999, he started as a patent attorney at Kolster and has since drafted numerous patent applications for various application fields of automation, electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as attended to related opposition and appeal proceedings. Reijo is also well versed in infringement opinions and novelty searches.

The fields of technology familiar to Reijo include, in particular, paper machine automation, methods and apparatuses for pulp processing, control engineering, measuring techniques, various automation devices and systems, rock drilling equipment, hoisting apparatuses, transport engineering, and fault diagnostics for power supply systems.
