Lassi Saarela helps Kolster’s clients protect technical innovations and designs, and leverage them to gain a competitive advantage.

Lassi serves as a European Patent Attorney and Design Attorney at Kolster. He has extensive experience in comprehensive protection strategies and dispute resolution, particularly in the manufacturing and consumer goods sectors. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and, before his IPR career, worked in industry focusing on production planning and development.

Lassi is also an IPR trainer, tailoring company-specific training programs for the staff of Kolster’s client companies.

He emphasizes the importance of protecting all aspects of product development and utilizing the IPR portfolio to defend competitive advantage. A strong IPR portfolio can open new cooperation opportunities with competitors instead of leading to disputes, and strengthens one’s position in negotiations.
