Matias Mähönen supports Kolster’s clients in matters related to patents and design protection.
He has strong expertise in the entire patenting process, from drafting applications to prosecution and grant. Matias assists clients in decision-making by evaluating inventions, conducting prior art and freedom-to-operate searches, and offering expert advice.
Before entering the IPR field, Matias worked in industrial investment projects as a mechanical designer and project manager.
Matias believes that communication, business insight, and technological understanding are key to successfully managing IPR matters. For him, effective communication means reciprocal listening—an approach that helps identify the solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
